Welcome Home!... becoming the Face you adore

Winter... at the Crown of Maine

What in the name of God is going on? But it's gone on, it's a done deal. I'm given something that won't be taken, not even when I die.

I ached for Life
you held out to me bread
saying, "Eat"

I longed for Love
you offered me a sacred book
saying, "Read"

I sought Grace
you handed me a creed
saying, "Believe"

Shallow waters cannot satisfy
a Lover panting to plunge into the
Depths of Union

A cloudy, dark sky
hides the Sun
I cried out for -
nothing else
will satisfy

Jesus holds out his hands
fingers around a beating heart, saying,
"Brian, enjoy all of it"

I have been a beggar for
the living Treasure
dissatisfied with shadows
of the Light

I listen for
the source of the sound in the music
no more resting content with
the opus only ears hear

I looked back inside Eden
Christ said, "Why stand outside?
Come on in, friend.
Welcome home!"

Some keep gazing at the Icon
I just dived through
to become the Face
I had long adored

*"Welcome home!"

The more who you have thought yourself to be disappears, the more you become present. One means of this disappearing act is to adore and surrender to a being of Love. This being represents for you the Divine - Who is Love. This one is, also, a projection of yourself - not the you with the stories you tell about yourself, but you without those stories. You have no stories. You are, as Spirit is. You discover, then, the reason you longed for love and feel most joyful when feeling love is that is what you are, have always been, and cannot not be. For me, Jesus has been an object-of-Love, for he is the same love I am - you are. He has been a mirror for me to see myself. And in seeing myself, I see you, everyone. And, yet, for this to happen, we must give ourselves wholeheartedly. We even give that of ourselves we are unable to give - we give even that.

Upon deeper reflection, I begin to see that my life is not now, nor has it ever been, my own.
